As a bookkeeper in a small or medium-sized company, you have to import account statements, reconcile transactions with bank postings and, not least, ensure that all the transactions have been taken into account.
Rule-based transaction matching in Business Central
Thanks to rule-based transaction matching, in Business Central it is already relatively easy and manageable to handle these processes, with the work of handling the remaining non-matched transactions every single week, however, still both time-consuming and cumbersome, and quickly results in a lot of work , which could instead be used to create value for the company.
Bank account reconciliation supported by AI
In Business Central 25, which will be released in October in connection with the 2024 release wave 2 upgrade wave, Microsoft has improved the reconciliation of bank accounts with the AI-based Copilot.

Improvement of bank account reconciliation in Copilot
The 'Bank Account Reconciliation' feature in Dynamics 365 Business Central has been enhanced with:
- AI-based transaction matching in Business Central 25 complements rules-based matching and further reduces the remaining number of unmatched transactions where manual review is required.
- Financial account suggestions have been added, which are driven by artificial intelligence, where Dynamics 365 Copilot suggests the most obvious financial account to post any remaining transactions to and which also provides the option to remember a given transaction description for the next bank account reconciliation.
- The new version of Business Central also comes with built-in demo data for evaluation companies, making it much easier to test and demonstrate this Copilot feature to others.
