As part of the launch of Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2, Business Central version 23 will be released in October.
With version 23, Microsoft introduces a number of improvements and new features to the application.
Business Central Copilot
Microsoft is also focused on improving the AI-driven Copilot capability in Business Central, so that Copilot in the new version is lifted to the next level. With guidance from Copilot, Business Central users are given the opportunity to optimize their work processes and carry out work tasks faster and more accurately. Business Central developers already benefit from Copilot in Visual Studio Code and the AL user experience, here too there is more to come.
Consolidation and Intercompany features
With Business Central 23, Microsoft introduces a number of core features that improve the possibility that several companies across several Business Central environments can manage consolidations of financial data as well as entering intercompany partnerships.
Get started faster
Microsoft has again reduced the time it takes for new customers to get onboard and up and running with Business Central. In Business Central 23, it has become easier to understand why certain errors occur, and users receive messages that suggest ways to solve a specific problem, so that you can quickly continue your work.
Compliance
The enhancements introduced with Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2 help businesses around the globe stay compliant with various government regulations and provisions. By automating a number of regulatory tasks, the company's employees can focus on work that optimizes the core business.
Ease of use

Editable fields

Additionally, you can consume business events with the Business Central Power Automate connector. - Application improvements:
With Business Central 23, the consolidation and intercompany functions now work across multiple environments, opening up entirely new possibilities for wider use of the multicompany functions in Business Central. The supply chain functions are also improved with several optimizations and new features in the new version of Business Central, which means that you will be able to run the company's warehouse and storage processes more efficiently. These improvements include, for example, improved picking process, fulfillment suggestions, SKU management, and added granular inventory configuration for manufacturing and jobs. - Countries and regions:
With this upgrade, Microsoft is also expanding the global availability of Dynamics 365 Business Central. This means that Business Central is now available in more than 130 countries and regions. - Improvements for developers:
Also with Dynamics 365 2023 release wave 2, Microsoft continues to invest in areas that increase the productivity of Business Central developers when working in Visual Studio Code.
