What is Power BI?
Power BI is a business intelligence solution and part of the Microsoft Power Platform. Power BI helps the company's employees drive a data-based business culture across the company's departments and at all levels, so that they can make informed business strategic decisions based on data insight.
Power BI 2022 release wave 2
With the Power Platform 2022 release wave 2 upgrades to Power BI, Microsoft continues to invest in improving the application so that companies can incentivize and encourage the individual employee and team to contribute to a data-driven corporate culture where decisions are made on an informed basis.
In the Power BI 2022 release wave 2 upgrade wave, a number of improvements to Power BI are introduced, including:
- Improving the authoring user experience by aligning user experiences with Microsoft 365 and enabling dataset authoring on the web.
- Microsoft brings Power Query chart view into Power BI Desktop so developers can perform ETL on their data without having to write code.
- For teams, Microsoft brings improvements to Metrics focused on business needs and integration with Viva Goals.
- Additionally, enhancements such as scaling up abbig data user experience through automatic aggregations, query scaling out, data protection capabilities through DLP with improved visibility into activity for administrators are added.
Power BI Premium
The new functions that, as part of the Power Platform 2022 release wave 2, are delivered to Power BI Premium help companies to accelerate the delivery of data insights on a very large scale and meet the companies' most demanding needs.
